Summer of '69

It's 1969, and it's a year of great change for the Levin family. Every year, the four brothers look forward to the summer, which they used to spend at their grandmother's historic house on Nantucket. But this year, nothing will be the same as before: Blair, the oldest sister, is stuck in Boston because she can't travel with her twins. Middle sister Kirby, caught up in the exciting whirlwind of civil rights protests, decides to break free and takes a summer job on a neighboring island, Martha's Vineyard. The only son, Tiger, is fighting in Vietnam. Thus, thirteen-year-old Jessie suddenly feels alone, stuck in the holiday home with her aloof grandmother and worried mother, and all three keep disturbing secrets. As the heat rises, Senator Ted Kennedy crashes his car on Chappaquiddick Island, a man goes to the moon, and Jessie and her family experience their own dramatic turmoil along with the rest of the country.
