The conversations that take place around a film can also be read as creative commentaries, but they also gradually unfold the life path, vision, artistic and thinking perception of filmmakers; and in many cases can be considered oeuvre conversations. The dialogic speech brings to the surface a multitude of film historical, historical and personal experiences, in the light of which the conversations published in the book attract the attention of both the researcher and the film lover interested in the past and present of Hungarian documentary. Some of the published interviews have previously been published in the Magyar Napló magazine and in the National Film Archive's Filmkultúra magazine, but some of them are now appearing for the first time. Their publication serves the task of preserving and disseminating a source-worthy material that at the same time contributes to the preservation of the values of Hungarian documentary, the social recognition of its merits and the survival of the genre.
