Greco-Roman, Arab, and medieval medicine was based on the so-called sputum-cortology. The healing practice of this medicine, which was dominant in Europe until the 19th century, consisted largely of dietary therapy. After explaining the basic principles of sap pathology, the book presents this ancient, and in many places still alive, method of healing, as well as its connections with astrology, physiognomy and other strange theories.
