Description
One of the main tasks of the children's bible, written by Hungarian authors and illustrated by Hungarian graphic artists, is to bring the stories of the Old and New Testaments close to the children of the 21st century, and thus to make the biblical examples come to life. When writing a children's bible recommended for preschoolers from 10 to 12 years of age, the authors sought to make the text suitable for evening storytelling, independent reading, and devotion to children, whether in the family, school, or congregation. For the laity, holidays such as Christmas, Easter, Pentecost, and lesser-known notable days such as Flower Sunday or Ascension were given an important role in the volume. In order to be used in the teaching of the faith, the topics have been chosen to fit as closely as possible with the official theological curricula issued by the chief authorities of the Christian churches. In its language and style, the Conversational Bible approaches the language use and reading skills of today's children, and the authors start the given stories with an introduction that calls for common thinking. And Csilla Kőszeghy's inspired drawings convey the serenity of faith.
