Writing letters

Each letter can be written between two parallel horizontal lines that are touched at the bottom and top. The writing used in Hungarian belongs to the spelling (alphabetical writing). All spelling is basically phonetic because its purpose is sound notation: we match the elements of a sound set in a language to the elements of a font (i.e., some alphabet). Ideally, a letter corresponds to a sound and vice versa, i.e. their correspondence is mutual and clear. This is almost never quite the case.
