Description
The workbook is Balázs József Attila Similar Dictionary. It is based on the material of the dictionary of old and new utterances of the Hungarian language, published by Tinta Könyvkiadó in 2017. Under the heading 1220 of this handbook, it interprets 4168 parables of our language with 4638 examples illustrated in folk poetry, fiction or the press language, giving 683 its synonym and 703 its antonym. The workbook contains 48 different exercises that shed light on the rich meaning and use of parables and speech parables. 41 processes the parables of everyday speech, 7 and guides the interested person into the inexhaustible world of literary parables (Kelemen Mikes, Sándor Petőfi, Mór Jókai, Gyula Krúdy, Sándor Márai, Lewis Carrol). In order to facilitate the acquisition of knowledge about the Hungarian parables, the phrases of each task are either processed or, due to one of their common elements, mentioned in a group, such as mental abilities (head like sieve), room (as much as bolhavese), animals (steals sy as a thief magpie), parables with a proper name (sets sy as Pilate to Debrecen), weather-related (steals sy like a ground squirrel), biblical (stands sy like Balaam's donkey), etc. The volume concludes with a solution key and a list of references. The versatile processing of the workbook material is possible precisely through the aforementioned diversity of tasks: it is suitable for both individual (home) and group (school) work.
