Cubes, squares and grids

The rich imagery shows the occurrences and role of cubes, squares and grids and the patterns they create in our environment in an exciting and sensual way. Squares and cubes suggest order, regularity, precision, minimalism and modernism. From graph paper and checkered booklets to pixels and building facades to gratings and traffic signs, squares and cubes form the framework of our lives. They are also intertwined with our history, as evidenced by the flags, emblems and traditional Scottish plaid fabrics.
