Description
In June 1953, the Soviet party leadership assigned a select member of the Hungarian party leadership to Moscow for a report. The Soviet comrades severely criticize, suppress the word in Comrade Stalin's best Hungarian student, Comrade Rákosi, and announce the new political and economic direction of the Hungarian Workers' Party, which the Hungarian comrades must implement immediately. And the new Hungarian prime minister is named. Imre Nagy will know then and there that he will be the new head of government of the country. Then perhaps he doesn't even know: he will want to do more as prime minister than the Soviet comrades commanded the Hungarian comrades. On June 4, 1953, he reads the government program in Parliament. He feels that the construction of socialism in Hungary will finally be on the right track. He did not know: on July 4, 1953, Bolshevik-type socialism began to collapse on a global scale. The foreword and notes were written by Gábor Szigethy.
