In 2012, one of the defining bands of Hungarian light music, Bikini, turned thirty years old. The musicians did not expect much from the celebration, already in February they presented the very serious oeuvre at a nearly four-hour concert. The double CD and DVD with the material of the show were made by the beginning of the summer, and the concert book will be released on November 15 after the concert records. The work of György Maróthy presents the Bikini ensemble following the jubilee concert. The reader can feel there again at the performance, while learning about the band’s three decades of history and the current and longest-standing membership together. On jubilee occasions, Bikini musicians rarely talk about their lives, their music, their audiences, or even their politics. The pictorial material of the volume is also unusual, because although the demanding series of photos taken at the jubilee concert evokes the festive atmosphere, in addition, recordings that have never been published before guide us behind the scenes.
