Description
Along the sixty-eight defining political flashes, a vibrant intellectual and artistic life developed in the western half of the world as well as east of the Iron Curtain. Will the debates of this year still be heard? Did his philosophical fashions survive half a century? Can we still recall his dramas, his cult films, his songs repeated a thousand times? The mosaic cube left to us in each fragment suggests: sixty-eight have countless faces. And if we look more closely at this dense year, we will see that there are no sixty-eight, instead there are sixty-eight. Worn, honest, questionable. The tanks that had invaded Prague for half a hundred years had already thoroughly rusted, and the fiery red comets of Paris had turned into autumn. From sixty-eight to date, few objective comments have been made. This volume seeks to highlight contexts that, even as a catalyst for debate, can provide a more differentiated picture of sixty-eight cultural, intellectual, political and social heritage.
