It was a long time, but not so much - in 1986 - that Charles the Great, the author of the volume’s journalism, could almost feel on his visit to China for a good month that he and his photojournalist were guests to the world’s largest and oldest cultural literature. The sights were like that and the reception was so. Completing the program compiled for them - Beijing, Chongqing, Chengdu, Lhasa, Gyana, Sigace, Xi'an - they were able to feel part of a wonderful journey - what they saw, what they thought, what the author reported in his wife's letters several times a day - this is what the book is about, also literally communicating the letters. It is a great thing that in Tibet they were declared guests of the autonomous government, they were received by one of the deputy prime ministers ... Of course, it was a long time ago. But today, with the help of the Internet, it is easy to see what has changed and in what direction since 1986, what promises the world that China, one of the poorest in the 1950s, is now following in the footsteps of the United States has meanwhile, it created a middle class of more than a hundred million, that is, it constantly raised the standard of living of the people, the quarters erected from skyscrapers in the big cities. So Chinese "capitalism" - acknowledged by many Western scholars - actually serves socialist purposes ...
