After two years of sold-out concert tours, it seems unquestionable that Conner4Real (Andy Samberg) is the God Emperor of music. After the tour, however, comes the knock: the pop star's second album fails miserably, fans begin to abandon him - and the insoles and rivals wonder what to do when it turns out that Conner4Real is no longer the hottest star. The insanely funny pseudo-documentary, which holds a crooked mirror to the shooting stars of the pop industry, is the brainchild of the Lonely Island trio, famous for their parody video clips, whose creation was supported by the popular comedy director Judd Apatow (Ready for Disaster, 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up) as a producer. A lot of stars from the music industry appear in the film (Seal, Justin Timberlake, Michael Bolton), and even famous actors are happy to turn themselves into clowns for the sake of the producers (Emma Stone, Martin Sheen) for an episodic role.
