Description
The aesthetics of absence entices the reader into an imaginary journey. Contrary to popular belief, absence (absentia / absence / Abwesenheit) is not non-existence, not nothing. Not even a shortage. Absence is one that is not here and not now - "without place" (sans lieu), "without present" (sans présent) - that interferes creatively in the process of both temporal and spatialization, in our linguistic and pictorial relations, into the formation of intersubjectivity. The aim of the book is to trace this constitutive, not "void" absinthe in the most important philosophical and aesthetic thinkers of the 20th century, touching Marin, Serres, Foucault, Merleau-Ponty, Deleuze, Blanchot, Barthes, Richir, Didi-Huberman, Nancy, Augé's works. Meanwhile, he deals with the phenomemology of time, space and language, the status of a work of art, the way life exists, and questions of literary theory in several threads.
