I was a funny, foreign guy from a Komi country in Beirut, Buenos Aires, and later in America, and in the eyes of my teenage friends at home, I was the weird boy who was playing Argentine samples on his guitar instead of Beatles songs. I was a proud Hungarian abroad, and at home I was one of those who believed that this "Company" commuting between West and East was already Europe. As Ady wrote a hundred years ago. Since then, it is as if Europe and the world are commuting more and more. You're looking for a place. I felt I, too, had to rethink everything I had imagined so far about life and death, love and hate, love and family, faith and rites. But even about everyday life: eating, drinking, dressing, our living environment. With humor, easily, of course, lest I scare myself. I know there are no final answers, just final questions - this book is also just a kind of subjective world snapshot. András Kepes is a journalist, writer and university professor in three languages, in Budapest, Beirut and Buenos Aires. During his later work and television career (such as his series entitled The Village of the World), he also gained a wealth of experience about the relationship between different cultures and the difficulties of integration. This volume as a kind of GPS helps the reader navigate our turbulent world.
