World tourism

The handbook is primarily intended for students majoring in tourism hospitality and tourism management (BSc, MSc), but may also be recommended to a wider readership interested in tourism. The material in this textbook is based on data series and regional breakdowns published by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and presents the latest trends in world tourism. Dr. habil. Remenyik Bulcsú PhD tourism researcher, associate professor, professor at the Budapest University of Economics. It researches the effects of overtourism on urban and lake tourism in the Budapest-Central Danube region and the Balaton tourist regions. Prof. Dr. habil. Lajos Szabó is a geographer, agricultural engineer, doctor of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, professor of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences of Szent István University. He spent more time on distant continents working on pedagogy and scientific research on agrotourism, which is also a field of research in Hungary today.
