In the spring of 2020, with the explosion of COVID-19, universities and schools around the world closed, and educators and teachers had to switch from an almost instantaneous momentum to online education, which is unknown to many. Harvard University professor Dan Levy has responded to this unexpected situation by compiling an essential and easy-to-use handbook that provides teachers with guidance on how to conduct effective, effective live classes and activities online. In addition to pedagogical advice, the author answers the following fundamentally important practical questions, among others: What are the different Zoom features (eg voting, chatting, small groups) good for? How can these be used most effectively in a lesson? How do I activate students in front of the screen? How to build community in the virtual classroom? What makes a watch with Zoom a truly lasting experience? In his book, based on the results of his work and research, Professor Levy draws on his own experiences and observations in online education from the teaching strategies and effective teaching and learning theories of his Harvard teaching colleagues. And at least as important, it provides interviews with students who have just taken part in online education for the first time in their lives and who have also had to switch to the new learning method without a transition.
