Description
The story takes place in a quiet, exemplary Swedish town, Hogbodorna, where no serious crime has taken place in a decade. The activities of the local police are pretty much about having breakfast (hot dogs), having coffee (accompanied by some hot dogs), having lunch (...) and then drinking more coffee. Politicians are deciding that there is no need for police in a crime-free city, so they want to close the police station, much to the chagrin of the six local geniuses who have more than friendly relations with residents. Cops rising from the winds of panic then reach for a rather unusual tool: they decide to create crimes so maybe they can save their jobs. The obsessed drunkard of the village is "promoted" into a shop crate, some shooting is set in the woods and a fire is set on fire, but unfortunately in the meantime the stand of their favorite sausage seller also becomes the prey of the fire. Hell soon breaks loose, and a special commando arrives from the big city to curb the dangerous gang. The film won the Best European Film Award at the 2003 Montreal International Film Festival.
