The aim of the volume is to present the literary past of a region, Vas County, by addressing a wider audience and illustrating it with pictures. It is basically based on two components: the educational writings of the literary historian Péter Bokányi on the topic, and the works of the photographer Kálmán Garas. "... I will finally return home to Csöngés" - says the closing line of the Weöres poem entitled Vasegyegyei greeting, . Yes, Sándor Weöres returned home: to the house of his parents' bells, to the estate of the Weöres ancestors - Kemenesalja in Vas County. It is said that the region that gave two geniuses to Hungarian literature - Dániel Berzsenyi and Sándor Weöres - is a happy region, Kemenesalja. Wandering the gentle hills and walking in its quiet villages, we can find traces of our spiritual predecessors and ancestors almost everywhere - in the memory of the geniuses, the talented creators of great national significance in their "shadow". And the search for clues is an important task: as early as the 19th century, it was realized that the heritage of the past must be preserved in order to recall, if only for a few moments, the spirit of past centuries to help present life as a point of reference.
