Description
On October 25, 1956, in conditions that were still unclear, Hungarian army and Soviet military units opened fire on peaceful protesters gathering in Kossuth Square. The exact number of victims is still unknown. During the reconstruction of the square in 2014, an exhibition and memorial site honoring the victims of the volley and the revolution was housed in one of the former ventilation tunnels of the Parliament. The publication briefly presents the history of the era and the events of the revolution, with the events of Bloody Thursday and the central exhibition space.
