Today's younger generation may not have heard that in 1919-1920, after the Great Depression, Poland, which had just been reborn from the division of 123 years, had to fight a life-and-death struggle again - with the deadly danger of snake eggs, Bolshevik Russia against. The former fought for national survival, the latter wanted to ignite Europe with the torch of the world revolution. The true history of this war was not public either in the Soviet Union or in the annexed states it occupied, nor in Poland itself. And Soviet historiography did not want anyone to recall a time when a former tsarist province refused to be a member of the "Soviet club."
