Longer description: Airplanes 1914 1939 traces the development of aircraft of various types, makes and purposes from the beginning of the history of motor aviation to the year of the outbreak of World War II. The reader can learn about some of the famous types from World War I air combat, speed recorders, and specials. The volume depicts about 150 aircraft of the era (in alphabetical order) and also illustrates each with an accurate color image. The most important technical data: engine, weight, payload, range, speed, flight altitude, etc. It contains a short, concise description of the history of the design, development and commissioning of the machines.
