Description
The authors, the staff of the internationally known MorphoLogic Kft., Deal with the human language aspects of computer use. At the heart of our practical, educational book is the typewriter (spoken language is only tangential to the authors). The work begins with computer text representation, summarizing the knowledge that the user hears in word processing courses: the text codes, the possibilities of satisfying the different needs of different languages. After that, we can read about the support of text correctness: the Hungarian language versions of the spelling check, separation, and other services related to word processors require many unique solutions. Of these, morphological analyzes (named after MorphoLogic) are of great importance, without the application of which the methods prevalent in the world could not be applied to the Hungarian language. This also provides the basis for the original dictionary solution described in the book: there are few computer dictionaries in the world that consolidate text forms and decipher their dictionary form (MoBiDic is such). From the dictionary that performs the morphological analysis, the most exciting novelty, the translation support, is only one (but not small, easy to do) step. The appendices provide a practical solution, the first for language support for text recognition systems and the second for language features in Microsoft Office. The book is intended by the authors for a wide readership, but especially for university and college teachers, students, IT system developers, and educators.
