Heart and soul

St. II. Pope John Paul II beatified László Batthyány-Strattmann in Rome on March 23, 2003. It was part of the ceremony when the new happy image was unveiled on the facade of St. Peter's Basilica. This was accompanied by great applause expressing the joy of those present. However, the joy was not complete, as many rightly expressed how good it would have been if a picture depicting his wife, Mária Terézia Coreth, appeared next to him, because they walked together, helping each other on the path of sanctity of life. Even after nearly twenty years, this desire is still alive in the hearts of many people, and they trust that one day we can also honor her among the happy, since the beautiful and exemplary life of Mária Terézia Coreth cannot be viewed without her husband.[...] We believe that at the end of their journey together, they both reached their destination. There is less material available for this biography than for her husband, but we still have before us an exemplary wife and family mother, a woman of faith who works for the community. This publication also serves to spread his respect, so that more and more people draw strength from his life example and follow it!
