Description
A volume with color photos. After the Compromise of 1867, more than a hundred small and large synagogues were built in the territory of today's Slovakia, mostly based on the designs of Hungarian architects. The Jews living here, almost without exception, declared themselves Hungarian. The book presents thirty-two synagogues in thirty cities, of which they hardly function as places of worship today, most of them have been beautifully renovated and serve cultural purposes, where exhibitions and concerts are held.
