Antigone - King Oedipus

In terms of ancient Greek drama, Sophocles is the pattern, in many cases the standard. The secret of his two best-known works is the unanswered questions raised in them. His heroes are tragic heroes: their ideals and goals are clear in all cases, and the reason for their fall is that a force more powerful than them (the king or Fate) is pursuing the opposite goal. However, it is almost impossible to judge their actions objectively; they have been a constant source of debate since the stories were written.
