The now legendary location of the novel in the form of a writer's dictionary: Porlód. The city where the fight against the "dust" and the river leaves its mark on everyday life and breathes thickly into it or just takes the souls with it. You have to live with the "elements" and even learn to love them. The roots of its main character, András Szeles, and his entire family's fate have become one with Porlód, and the roots of his intricate relationships grip the soil here with tenacious strength. Desires, tales, legends, rumors and myths are often swirling here. Incredible and mundane, old and recent stories forge the lives of the people of Porlod into an organic unity: history passes through here, leaves its mark in every small corner, and passes through its inhabitants as well. The protagonist of the volume, András Szeles, is a child of the fifties, a teenager of the sixties, a young man of the seventies - thus also a chronicler of Hungary's recent past. But Ferenc Temesi's work is more than an imprint of "Porlódism", more than a generational, family, love and autobiographical novel: all of it together. It also travels a huge distance in time: it then takes the reader over 150 years, from 1833 to 1973.
