Shakespeare: Sonnets

Shakespeare's sonnets can be divided into two parts. The first group includes the first 126 sonnets addressed by the handsome "blonde man," and the sonnets in the second section are for the mysterious "black lady." In the first part, the figure of a "poet 's rival" also appears, so that the contours of a hidden story and narrative appear more and more before us as we read the poems. The most authentic readers of sonnets are lovers of all time - young people, for them Shakespeare's masterfully edited, powerful lines say the unspeakable, call beauty by name, most aptly express the inner tension of love, the "odi et amo" (I love and hate) . Some of Lőrinc Szabó's sonnet translations were so successful that they surpassed the original in their effect.
