Description
December 1804. Napoleon Bonaparte is now emperor of France, but his main desire is to rule the whole of Europe. Shortly after the spectacular defeat at Trafalgar, Austerlitz reaps a glorious victory over Austria, then turns his attention to Spain and deprives the king of his throne and replaces his own brother, Joseph. Although Napoleon is at the peak of his power, his victories are still bittersweet, as Empress Josephine is unable to give her a child, and she still has to defeat her most hated opponent: Britain. Arthur Wellesley, the future Prince of Wellington, holds his seat as well as a military tactician as a politician. But Kitty's marriage to Pakenham is less successful, so she joins the army's European campaign to escape. After leading his men to victory in Portugal, he takes on the army command position and reaps a whole series of glorious battles in Spain, gaining public recognition for himself. His victories show all those who do not want to live under French rule that Napoleon's conquests are not unstoppable and that freedom can indeed be won.
